Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. They moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. When she was ten, she had performed and taken as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via their Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the highest-grossing film of the year 2001. Critics were impressed with the film and its performance. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the film.
